Fisher Island, FL - Fisher Island, located just south of Miami Beach, has been identified as the second most expensive ZIP code in the United States, with a median home listing price of $6.1 million.
A recent RealtyHop report compiled the priciest ZIP codes in the U.S., finding the top ZIP codes belong to coastal, wealthy enclaves or luxury vacation destinations where homes typically cost more than $4 million.
RealtyHop reports the top spot is held by Atherton, California, near Stanford University, where the median home price reaches $7.75 million.
Atherton's high property values are attributed to its large estates owned by Silicon Valley executives, entertainers, and athletes.
Other notable areas include Sagaponack, New York, in the Hamptons, with a median home price of $6 million, and various mountain towns such as Aspen, Colorado, and Big Sky, Montana, which attract buyers seeking exclusivity and natural beauty.
In Florida, following Fisher Island, Boca Grande (ZIP code 33921) has a median home price of $2.69 million, and Anna Maria (ZIP code 34216) stands at $2.45 million.
According to RealtyHop's website, "the report was compiled by analyzing the most expensive zip codes in the United States using over three million for-sale listings drawn from the RealtyHop database during the period between January 1, 2024, and October 15, 2024.
To produce the ranking, the median price for each zip code was calculated and sorted from most expensive to least expensive.
The following building types were used to calculate median sales price: condo, co-op, house, multifamily, residential, townhouse, and triplex.
Any listings classified purely as “land” were excluded from the study. Any listings with invalid zip codes, including single-building zips located in New York City, were also excluded."
