Chad Chronister Turns Down DEA Nomination From Trump

TAMPA -- President-elect Trump's pick to run the Drug Enforcement Administration is withdrawing his nomination.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister says in a post on "X" that as the "gravity" of the job has set in, he's decided to focus on continuing his work in Hillsborough County.

Mr. Trump nominated Chronister for the job Saturday.

He's the son-in-law of former San Francisco 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo.
