Two St. Lucie County deputies and a Fort Pierce Police officer are expected to be okay after being struck by an alleged drunk driver.

The deputies and officer were conducting a felony traffic stop for an unrelated reckless driver along U.S. One Saturday evening when 45-year old Perry Peables failed to move over and crashed into the back of the patrol cars with their police lights on.

Sheriff Keith Pearson tells CBS 12 News that it was obvious what was going on with Peables.

"I was on scene a few minutes after this had occurred. I could hear the slurring coming from Mr. Peables. There was an open container of alcohol that you could see inside the vehicle as well."

Peables faces several DUI charges and Pearson says the man had a DUI conviction in the past.

Pearson says Deputies Skylar Guertin and Jeffrey Anzalone will be okay. Fort Pierce Police Officer Corey Bernardini was also treated and released.

Meanwhile, police bodycam video from the scene has been released.
