Broward County, FL - The Humane Society of Broward County is hosting its annual "Black Furrday" pet adoption event on Friday and Saturday.
According to the Humane Society's website, the event aims to find homes for pets during the holiday season by offering waived adoption fees for select animals and half-price fees for dogs and cats aged one year and older.
In addition to adoption specials, the shelter's vaccine clinic will be open both days, providing free microchips for pets when owners purchase a vaccine or flea and tick preventative.
No appointments are necessary, and clinic hours are from 8:30 to 11:40 a.m. and 1:00 to 5:30 p.m on Friday, November 29, and Saturday, November 30, 2024.
All adopted pets come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.
They also receive health testing, a bag of pet food, and a 14-day health care plan provided by VCA Animal Hospitals.
Prospective adopters are encouraged to complete a pre-adoption application online at humanebroward.com, where they can also view available pets.

The HSBC will be offering “Cuddle Busters” on Friday, November 29– Saturday, November 30, which means the adoption fee will be waived for select pets. In addition, the adoption fee will be ½ price for dogs and cats one year of age and older. Whether you’re looking for big or small, purebred or a unique mixed breed…there is always love for sale at the Humane Society of Broward County.
The shelter’s vaccine clinic will also be open for the event for those pets that have homes. A free microchip will be provided for those owned pets when a vaccine or flea/tick preventative is purchased.
