In the 2024 general election, Republicans dominated in the Sunshine State, with Donald Trump easily winning Florida's 30 electoral votes and U.S. Senator Rick Scott handily winning re-election.

Rick Scott, seeking re-election to the U.S. Senate, triumphed over Democrat Debbie Mucarsel-Powell by a margin of over 12 percentage points. At his victory celebration at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa, Scott emphasized the importance of Republican leadership in addressing the nation’s challenges. “We needed a Republican Party to start solving the problems of this country, and we have a significant number of problems,” Scott stated. "Florida is a center of the Republican Party of this country."

As the dust settles, the Republican Party’s stronghold in Florida appears more solidified than ever, setting the stage for future political battles and leadership contests within the party.
