Miami, FL - Miami Central High School's football team has been forced to forfeit eight games due to using an ineligible player.
Miami Central High School's football program has been dealt a significant blow after the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) ruled that the team used an ineligible player.
As a result, the Rockets have been forced to forfeit all eight of their victories this season.
The FHSAA investigation determined that Miami Central used a fifth-year student-athlete, a violation of state athletic association rules.
The school has been placed on administrative probation until November 1, 2025, and fined $900.
The ruling has major implications for the Rockets, who were considered one of the top teams in Florida.
The team has the option to appeal the decision within the next 10 business days.
