Broward County Offers Free Bus Rides to Early Voting Sites

(Fort Lauderdale, FL) -- Broward County is helping voters get to the polls for free this weekend.

County commissioners unanimously approved an ordinance to waive all bus fares in the county on Saturday and Sunday to push more residents to vote early.

Early voting sites are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through the end of the week.

The fare-free initiative will also apply for Election Day on November 5th.

In addition to All BCT bus and paratransit rides being fare-free over the weekend and on Tuesday, Nov. 5th, Palm Beach County Palm Tran is offering free rides on Election Day on Palm Tran fixed-route, Palm Tran Connection and Go-Glades services.

“We are pleased to offer free transportation to the polls on November 2, November 3, and on Election Day, November 5, to ensure everyone has the opportunity to vote without transportation worries,” Coree Cuff Lonergan, CEO and General Manager of BCT.
