A Florida judge will not recuse herself from a case involving former president Trump who was a defendant and is now a victim in her court.
US District Judge Aileen Cannon is rejecting a request to step away from the case against Ryan Routh who is charged with attempting to kill former President Donald Trump as he played on his West Palm Beach golf course September 15th.
The Trump-appointed judge says she has never spoken to or met former President Trump except as a defendant in her courtroom for his document's case which she tossed. Now he is a victim.
In a previous court filing, Routhās defense cited there might be an appearance of partiality because of a purported relationship between Cannon and the victim, Donald Trump.
Routh is charged with the attempted assassination of Trump. He has pleaded not guilty.
