6-Year-Old Boy Identified After Fatally Shooting Himself At Tamarac Home

Tamarac, FL - A 6-year-old boy accidentally shot himself to death with an unsecured gun in his Tamarac apartment on Monday.

Authorities have identified the victim as 6-year-old Odaine Hall, who was fatally shot inside his family's apartment.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred around 3:30 PM at the Sun Vista Gardens complex.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Hall, who was under the supervision of his uncle at the time, was able to access an unsecured firearm.

Tragically, he accidentally shot himself.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the boy critically injured.

Despite their best efforts, he was pronounced dead.

The shooting has left the community in shock and mourning.

BSO spokesperson Gerdy St. Louis emphasized the devastating impact on the family, stating, "This is a tragic incident for a family. You have to understand that this is a family that has lost their child and they are going through the unspeakable."

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

In light of this tragic event, the BSO is urging gun owners to prioritize firearm safety.

The department strongly recommends storing firearms unloaded and in locked containers inaccessible to children.
