Woman Rescued After SUV Crashes Thru Wall Of Coral Gables Parking Garage

Coral Gables, FL - A woman was rescued from a vehicle that crashed through the wall of a Coral Gables parking garage and dangled from the third floor.

The dramatic rescue happened Monday morning when the SUV crashed through the wall of a parking garage on Red Road.

The vehicle, a white SUV, dangled precariously from the edge of the third floor of the garage, located near Sunset Place.

First responders arrived at the scene and blocked off San Remo Avenue as they worked to secure the vehicle.

According to Coral Gables Fire Department Division Chief Xavier Jones, the driver accidentally hit the accelerator, causing the SUV to crash through the wall and into a tree.

The tree played a crucial role in preventing the vehicle from falling further.

The driver, a woman, was extracted from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

Despite the dramatic incident, she is expected to be okay.

There were no other injuries reported.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety precautions while driving in parking garages.
