Miami-Dade County, FL - Miami-Dade County has approved a $14 million project to convert the LaQuinta Hotel in Cutler Bay into subsidized housing for low-income seniors.

This initiative aims to address the growing homelessness crisis among older adults in the area.

The project is expected to provide housing for at least 130 residents over the age of 55.

However, some county commissioners have expressed concerns about the project's cost-effectiveness, arguing that it is overpriced.

Despite these concerns, the Homeless Trust supports the project and believes it will be a valuable resource for homeless seniors in the community.

The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
