Miami, FL - Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel expressed full confidence in starting quarterback Skylar Thompson as the team prepares to face the Seattle Seahawks.
McDaniel highlighted Thompson's dedication and growth since his previous starts, noting a noticeable improvement in his leadership and command of the offense.
“The confidence that the team has for Skylar is real and it’s earned,” McDaniel said. “It’s based on thousands of hours that as a backup quarterback, most people don’t see. I would say the team is very motivated to do their jobs. I don’t think it’s on anybody’s mind.”
While McDaniel didn't rule out the possibility of Tua Tagovailoa traveling with the team, he did not provide details on Tagovailoa's recovery from a recent concussion.
The Dolphins have also added quarterback Tyler Huntley to their roster, signing him from the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad.
Huntley's activation for Sunday's game remains uncertain, with Tim Boyle serving as Thompson's backup.
As the Dolphins enter a crucial stretch of their season, the team is united behind Thompson and optimistic about their chances of success.
