10 Arrested In Street Takeover in Tampa Suburb

TAMPA -- Ten people, including two juveniles, are facing charges after a Saturday night street takeover in Hillsborough County.

Sheriff's deputies and the highway patrol broke up the event, which they say was organized on social media and drew a crowd in the hundreds as well as their vehicles. The crowd shut down an intersection in the Riverview area and did donuts, drifted and engaged in other unlawful and reckless driving activities.

FHP says there are four charges of racing on a highway, three drug related charges, and six charges of being passengers participating in a street race or takeover. Four vehicles have been impounded.

Troopers and deputies also recovered three firearms and $6,000 in assets.

  • Jakob Bryan, 20, Land O’Lakes, Florida

  • Jakiya Burr, 24, Lake Whales, Florida
    • Knowingly Riding as a Passenger in Unlawful Racing or Street Takeover
  • 17-year-old male juvenile, Wesley Chapel, Florida
    • Knowingly Riding as a Passenger in Unlawful Racing or Street Takeover
  • Jaewon Foster, 29, Haines City, Florida
    • Knowingly Riding as a Passenger in Unlawful Racing or Street Takeover
    • Possession of Cannabis, less than 20 grams
  • Ethan Marton, 20, Holiday, Florida
    • Knowingly Riding as a Passenger in Unlawful Racing or Street Takeover
  • Marquis Pinkins, 29, Haines City, Florida
    • Unlawful Racing on Highway While Engaged in Coordinated Street Takeover
    • Fleeing to Elude
  • Alex Rodriguez-Lazu, 20, Lakeland, Florida
    • Unlawful Racing on Highway While Engaged in Coordinated Street Takeover
    • Fleeing to Elude
