Lake Mary won the Little League World Series for the first time in state history Sunday.

The Lake Mary All-Stars claimed the title 2-1 over Chinese Taipei Sunday on a walk-off bunt in the eighth inning in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Lathan Norton, who was sick and didn’t play in Saturday's U.S. LLWS Championship victory, scored the winning run in the championship.

Lathan scored from second base after the Chinese Taipei pitcher failed to cover first after the bunt.

As a result, Lake Mary rallied to beat Taiwan 2-1 in eight innings and claim the title.

“It was the greatest feeling ever,” said Lathan, who had a fever of 102 on Saturday but recovered before the championship. “I still haven’t had time to let it all sink in, but it feels like the most amazing thing ever.”
