Governor DeSantis has awarded $5.8 million to the Titusville-Cocoa Airport Authority through the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund to boost the local aerospace industry. The governor made the announcement Thursday at Space Coast Regional Airport.
"Florida is the space capital of the country," DeSantis said. "Titusville and the surrounding communities will benefit from these high-demand, high-wage jobs that will contribute to a stronger economy for families along the Space Coast."
The funds will support roadway infrastructure by creating direct access from the Space Coast Innovation Park to Space Coast Regional Airport, expanding business opportunities in the park and creating an estimated 900 jobs.
While in Titusville Governor DeSantis also commented on Vice President Kamala Harris's economic ideas, saying price controls won't bring down the cost of groceries.
"Look, if you could control prices from the government I would just say charge everyone 5 cents for eggs, right? Why not?"
The governor says inflation skyrocketed under Biden-Harris because of the government pumping trillions of dollars into the economy.
