Florida has made the top 10 list of worst states in which to have a baby.

A report from WalletHub, ranking states based on cost, healthcare, baby-friendliness and family-friendliness, has Florida at #41.

According to WalletHub Analyst Cassandra Happe, “The best states for having a baby minimize costs while providing top-notch care for both newborns and their mothers. They also continue to be good environments for parents even long after the birth, with high-quality pediatric care, affordable and accessible childcare, and a strong economic environment that makes providing for a child easier.”

WalletHub lists Florida as the 5th most expensive, 24th friendliest toward babies and 31st friendliest toward families. Our healthcare is ranked 46th.

Massachusetts is the best state to have and care for a child and is one of the top 10 least expensive.
