Early voting for the August 20th primary gets underway on Saturday in Palm Beach and Broward Counties, along with the rest of the state that hasn't already started.
State election law requires that early voting begin no later than ten days before an election.
"Vote-by-mail is down but we're expecting that in-person voting will be up."
Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Wendy Sartory Link says more than 49,000 vote-by-mail ballots have been filled out and returned.
For in-person early voting, there will be no shortage of opportunities.
"There will be 23 early voting locations this year. The most we've had."
She says voters can even make an appointment online to show up and vote, and wait no more than 15 minutes. Once at an election site, voters can use a system called 'Express Vote,' which allows the use of a touch screen instead of a pen.
"Or if you're somebody who says 'You know, I just love filling in those ovals,' great! Just tell them that you want the old fashioned ballots with the ovals and they're going to give you that as well."
All 23 Palm Beach County early voting locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day through next Sunday, August 18th.
Times may vary from county to county, so check with your local elections office.
