The Florida Department of Health has issued a no swim and no recreation activities advisory along the intracoastal in Riviera Beach following a wastewater spill on Tuesday.
Health officials are looking into possible bacterial contamination and the public is urged to take precautions near the affected area of Yacht Harbor Drive.
Testing is being conducted to see if conditions improve.
Officials stress that drinking water is not affected.
The wastewater spill comes on the back of a cover up of the city’s contaminated water supply that led to the recent ouster of the city’s utilities director, who has yet to be replaced.
