Key West, FL - A Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been accused of serious misconduct and arrested on 19 felony charges.
Authorities say 40-year-old Jennifer Ketcham is alleged to have exploited her position of authority for personal gain, specifically to benefit her teenage boyfriend.
According to authorities, Ketcham is suspected of illegally accessing confidential law enforcement databases to obtain sensitive information.
This information, which included details about upcoming drug raids, undercover informants, and other ongoing investigations, was allegedly shared with her boyfriend, who she reportedly described as a “drug dealer”.
Ketcham is also accused of using the databases to conduct background checks on individuals connected to her boyfriend.
Her actions are believed to have compromised the integrity of ongoing law enforcement operations and potentially endangered the safety of individuals involved.
The sheriff’s office has placed Ketcham on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of an internal investigation. She is currently facing a $1.9 million bond.
