West Palm Beach, FL - A Lake Worth Beach man was arrested for breaking into West Palm Beach City Hall, stripping naked, and leaving behind cocaine.

The bizarre break-in occurred at West Palm Beach City Hall last weekend, culminating in the arrest of 34-year-old Jake Foster Machado.

Authorities say Machado broke into the building early Sunday morning, leaving behind a trail of evidence that led to his capture.

A city employee discovered the break-in on Monday morning while preparing the commission chambers for a meeting after finding men's clothing and a bag containing a white powdery substance scattered on the floor.

Out of an abundance of caution, the building was evacuated while hazardous materials crews investigated.

The substance was later determined to be cocaine.

Surveillance footage revealed Machado entering the building around 5 a.m. on Sunday, removing his shirt and shoes, before engaging in erratic behavior throughout the building.

Police believe he attempted to re-enter the building multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Machado was arrested on Monday at a drug rehabilitation center and faces charges of unarmed burglary and possession of a controlled substance.
