We're learning more information about an apparent murder-suicide along the Treasure Coast.

Port St. Lucie Police responded to a call of gunshots around 3 a.m. Sunday.

When they arrived at the home on Northwest Cromey Street, officers found a 51-year old man and a 52-year old woman dead from gunshot wounds in a bedroom.

Police say Gilles Ballay shot and killed his wife Giselle while she slept before turning the gun on himself.

Investigators now believe that marital issues and frequent discussions about divorce were the motives.

A 16-year old family member and her teenage friend were at the home at the time of the shooting but were unharmed.
