Residents and drivers living near Jonathan Dickinson State Park may notice some smoke.
There is a prescribed burn planned for the park in Hobe Sound through Wednesday, weather permitting.
Officials at the state park say the burn will affect 450 acres of pine flatwoods in horse trails, south of the Kitching Creek overlook. These prescribed burns mimic natural fire cycles to restore healthy forests and reduce undergrowth that accumulates over time.
It's also aimed at decreasing the potential for wildfires.
