The second-guessing continues after the assassination attempt on former President Trump.
Investigations are underway to find out how the shooter was able to gain access to a building just over 100 yards from where Trump was speaking.
North Florida Republican Congressman Michael Waltz, a former Green Beret, says he spoke with some of the Secret Service agents who were working the detail.
"They were frustrated, they were embarrassed, they were angry because, according to them, they had repeatedly asked for more resources for Trump and his campaign and had been denied by Secret Service headquarters and by (Alejandro) Mayorkas at DHS headquarters."
Waltz believes that the former president needs more agents than he and his campaign have been provided.
"Trump is not your normal, average President and I think they just gave him kind of the 'Jimmy Carter Secret Service package.'"
"Between the rallies, his multiple residences and the fact he's facing Iranian assassination threats in addition to just your normal domestic threats, he should've had many more resources."
Waltz believes the issue at the rally was that Secret Service had to rely too much on local police and that's why the building where the shooter was located was not covered.
The Secret Service director calls the shooting "unacceptable" and says an investigation is underway.
Congressman Waltz spoke with Brian Mudd on Tuesday, when he also discussed his thoughts about Trump's pick of JD Vance as his running mate.
