WATCH: Polk Man Bites Cop, K-9 Bites Back

AUBURNDALE -- A law enforcement K-9 puts the bite on a suspect after he allegedly put the bite on an officer.

Polk Sheriff Grady Judd says deputies joined Auburndale police Monday to search for 38-year-old Calvin Cooley, listed as a 'violent offender.' who used a bicycle to get away from a traffic stop.

Judd says Cooley found a vacant house with missing windows and climbed inside. When deputies and officers arrived, instead of leaving the house, Cooley climbed up inside the ceiling. But it gave way, and Cooley tumbled to the floor. The sheriff says Cooley bit a law enforcement officer on the finger. A K-9 responded by putting the bite on Cooley, who was then taken into custody.

Cooley's charges include violation of probation, grand theft, meth and marijuana possession, battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer both with and without violence.
