FIU Out-Scores all State Universities in Performance-Based Funding

Florida International University has out-scored all state universities in performance-based funding.

In fact, FIU recently achieved the highest score in the history of the Performance-Based Funding earning 97 points.

FIU received $72.4 million in performance-based awards this year, securing the top rank among all Florida universities including UF and FSU.

"For fiscal year 2023-2024, the Florida Legislature and Governor allocated $645 million in performance-based awards, of which FIU received $72.4 million for being ranked first." according to the South Florida Business Journal. "Additionally, since 2019, FIU has been designated an emerging preeminent state research university."

Key metrics include the four-year graduation rate, retention rate, student education cost, and graduate employment.

Also, FIU is launching a bachelor’s degree in data science and AI in Fall 2024.
