The City of Westlake is warning residents of scammers who have been contacting people and posing as an official who works for the city.

The contact has come by phone and in person, in a scheme to get personal information.

The city is urging residents to watch out for suspicious activity and not give out any personal info. If you get a call from someone claiming to be a Westlake employee, you should hang up and call the city's direct line, which is 561-530-5880, to see if it's legitimate.

If you suspect a scammer has contacted you, call law enforcement and the city to alert them.
