5-Year-Old Girl Struck and Killed In Palm Beach Mobile Home Community

Palm Beach, FL - A 5-year-old girl died on Sunday after she was struck by a pickup truck while riding her scooter in a Palm Beach mobile home community.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) responded to reports of an accident at the Rainbow Mobile Home Colony on S. Military Trail around 7:30 p.m.

The victim, identified by family members as Isabella Lopez, was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.

Investigators believe Isabella, who was riding a non-motorized scooter, was near a curve in the road when she was struck by a Ford F-150 truck.

According to Isabella's mother, Bianca Rebolledo, the little girl had just graduated from pre-kindergarten and was excitedly anticipating starting kindergarten in the fall.

Rebolledo told WPTV "She was such a happy, friendly child. She had a huge heart, and we all loved her dearly."

The accident report suggests the truck driver, a 26-year-old male, had his view obstructed by a parked truck and trailer, hindering his ability to see Isabella.

The family has started a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.

Sheriff's office spokeswoman Teri Barbera confirmed that while no charges have been filed, "the investigation remains very active."
