Woman Charged With Racing At 117 MPH With Child In Car

A Florida woman faces charges of driving over one hundred miles per hour with a young child in the car.

24-year old Juliette Leon of Port St. Lucie was arrested last week for racing a Dodge Super Charger against another vehicle along Gatlin Boulevard, and she was clocked at 117 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone.

Leon is faces charges including racing on highways and child neglect.

The state Legislature this year passed a law aimed at cracking down on street racers. It will make it a third degree felony for second-time offenders. First timers will pay a $2,000 fine.
