Firefighters battled a brush fire in Boca Raton Thursday morning.
It sparked up around 5 a.m. behind a Costco wholesale club in the Yamato Scrub Natural Area off Congress Avenue and Clint Moore Road.
A Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokesman says between his agency and Boca Fire Rescue there were 20 units on the scene as gusty winds up to 40 miles per hour made it more difficult to fight the flames. There were concerns early on due to how close the fire was to some gas pumps.
The fire was contained by 7:30 a.m., but hot spots continued to be a concern. Nobody was injured.
A cause is under investigation.
