Fort Myers, FL - A Southwest Florida man was arrested on Thursday for making a bomb threat at Page Field Airport in south Fort Myers.
According to the Lee County Port Authority, 64-year-old Greg Poole drove a white Dodge pickup truck, approached the airport's base operations around 7:00 pm, and verbally threatened to detonate a bomb before fleeing the scene.
Authorities identified Poole as the individual who confronted clerks at the airport and expressed his intention to file a noise complaint regarding an airplane spraying chemicals over his residence.
Poole claimed to be tracking the aircraft and confirmed its origin at Page Field.
The Lee County Port Authority report says Poole allegedly threatened the clerks, stating, "If the plane does not stop flying over my house, you will be next."
Poole then fled the scene in his truck.
Law enforcement located and apprehended Poole at Haus of Trikes and Bikes on Fowler Avenue.
He was arrested on charges of fabricating reports concerning the placement of a bomb or weapon of mass destruction and making violent threats involving firearms.
A search of Poole's truck yielded a shotgun, rifle, and ammunition.
