The first of several meetings to allow Vero Beach residents to weigh in on plans to revitalize the city's downtown area was held on Thursday night.
It was a joint meeting between the City Council and Planning and Zoning Board.
Among the ideas discussed were adding hotels, rooftop bars, restaurants and whether to leave some space for a potential future Brightline station.
The high-speed rail line has committed to building a Treasure Coast station, but not in Indian River County. Five proposals have been submitted to Brightline in Martin and St. Lucie counties.
The next meeting in Vero Beach will be on February 5th.
