The family of a 21-year old man found dead in an SUV that had plunged into a canal has set up a GoFundMe page.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says Derick Lozano Varela was in the passenger seat of an SUV when the driver, 19-year old Liliana Vargas, lost control of the wheel and smashed through a guard rail. The vehicle came to rest upside down in the water near 60th Street North in Loxahatchee Groves early Sunday morning.
Her body was also found in the vehicle several hours later.
Varela's family says he leaves behind a seven month old son and they are asking for help with funeral arrangements.
The crash remains under investigation.
