An Amber Alert has been issued for a missing Treasure Coast boy.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says 12-year old Leon Scarborough was last seen in the 65-hundred block of Nuevo Lagos in Fort Pierce.

He's described as a white male, 5' 6" and about 130 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a dark colored shirt and dark colored shorts with yellow Crocs. Leon has a mole on his left shoulder blade and is known to wear a large silver chain around his neck.

He may be in the company of 54-year old Tracey Scarborough, who is a white male, 6' 0" tall, bald and about 180 pounds with hazel eyes.

The alert says that if you spot him don't approach, but contact law enforcement.

In a Facebook post, the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office notes that the older Scarborough is Leon's father.
