Bizarre Break-In at Computer Store Leaves Business Ransacked, Owner Puzzled

Estero, FL - A man broke into a Southwest Florida computer store and vandalized the store, but didn't steal anything, leaving the store's owner and police puzzled.

Phil Rice, the owner of PRR Computers, says that he and his wife were asleep when they received a notification from their security system that someone had broken into the back of their store.

Upon arriving at the store, Rice reviewed security footage which showed 39-year-old John Murphy Jr. breaking in and throwing one of the computers at the ceiling, resulting in the Wifi going out.

The footage also showed Murphy Jr. sitting on the store's sofa and taking off some of his clothes.

Rice says that Murphy Jr.'s behavior was erratic and that he seemed to be under the influence of something.

After his arrest, Rice discovered speakers in the toilet, a musical keyboard in the trash, and around $5,000 worth of damaged equipment.

However, Murphy Jr. didn't steal anything, even though hundreds of dollars in cash were left in plain sight inside the tip jar.

Despite the damage and strange behavior, Rice is grateful that the situation was not worse and has reopened his business.
