TAMPA -- Monday is Inauguration Day in Tampa, with Mayor Jane Castor getting sworn in for a second term and a new City Council joining her.
The ceremony takes place at 9 a.m. at Tampa City Hall.
The 2023 council includes two new members: Alan Clendenin in District 1, and Gwendolyn "Gwen" Henderson in District 5. Charlie Miranda now represents District 6, and Guido Maniscalco District 2. Lynn Hurtak and Bill Carlson return after winning their races, and Luis Viera faced no opposition in his bid for a second term.
A few hours later, at 2 p.m., council will hold its first organizational meeting to pick a chair and chair pro-tem, as well as chair and vice-chair for the Community Redevelopment board.
