Random Racially Motivated Attack in Naples Leaves Two Bloodied

Naples, FL - A man was arrested last week after a random, racially motivated attack on two men outside of a Southwest Florida bar.

The attack happened Wednesday night when an intoxicated man named Tayvon Pimentel attacked two men at random outside of Sidebar on 5th Avenue in Naples while the two were waiting for their Uber.

According to police, at around 11:00 p.m., Pimentel randomly punched the victims in the face, causing injuries and hurling racial slurs at them.

Police say Pimentel called the two victims “honkeys” and said they deserved the beating they just received.

Police arrived at the scene to find the victims covered in blood and being treated by EMS.

Witnesses say as officers attempted to take Pimentel into custody, he resisted fiercely, trying to escape from the patrol car and aggressively attempting to bite any officer who intervened.

It took multiple officers to handcuff Pimentel, who continued to try to bite officers while being detained.

Eventually, Pimentel was restrained and taken to the Naples Jail and charged with two counts of battery and resisting an officer with violence.
