The mother of a Florida high school junior says her daughter has been arrested for bringing a knife to school.

Jakeria Carter was upset when she spoke with CBS 12 News about an attack on her daughter by two girls at Pahokee Middle-Senior High on Friday.

She says that in the video of the fight, there were teachers watching.

"I felt they should've broke it up. Got them off my daughter, not just stand there."

Carter says her daughter brought the kitchen knife to school yesterday because she didn't feel safe.

A Palm Beach County School District official says there is "no expectation" for a member of staff who witnesses a physical altercation to intervene.

The school's principal says disciplinary action will be taken against any student who commits a violation of the District's Zero Tolerance Policy regarding weapons.
