Navy Member Accused of Threatening Wife After Denied Sexual Request

Homestead, FL - A US Navy member was arrested for domestic battery and assault with a deadly weapon after threatening his wife with a knife following a verbal argument that started when his wife refused to perform a sex act on him.

According to police, US Navy member Steve Allen Rice, 33, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly threatening his wife with a knife after she refused to engage in certain sexual acts.

Rice's wife claimed that he chased her with a knife, threatened to kill her and their children, and physically abused their daughter.

Rice's daughter told police that after Rice followed her upstairs, he came back down and threatened to hit her mother in the head with a metal bar stool because she "wouldn't shut up."

Authorities say Rice's daughter also told them that when Rice becomes enraged, he frequently strikes her siblings in the head with a clinched fist.

Rice is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon, child abuse, and false imprisonment.

The US Navy has not confirmed Rice's status as an active member.
