Broward's Top Teacher Agrees to Mutual Separation with District

The Broward School Board has voted again to fire Superintendent Dr. Vickie Cartwright with a mutual separation agreement. Today marked the end of a 90 day period during which Cartwright was to address seven areas of concern including community engagement, student achievement, and safety.

Cartwright says during the probationary period, she continued her focus on putting students first.

"Obviously during these 90 days, there was a lot of activity happening and there was a lot of noise, but the focus of my leadership and of my team, and of this district remains, students first."

The details of the separation agreement are still being hammered out.

Cartwright was named superintendent last February replacing Robert Runcie who stepped down amid perjury charges against him.
