2 workers injured during crane collapse on South Florida highway

Broward County, FL - Two construction workers were injured on Monday after a crane collapsed on Interstate 95 in Broward County.

Investigators say the incident happened around 10:45 a.m. after the ground gave way under a crane that was driving pilings into the ground as part of a road construction project in a construction zone on I-95.

When the ground gave way, the crane shifted, causing the pilings to fall on top of an orange bucket lift that had two workers inside.

The two workers fell approximately 30 feet to the ground and were rushed to the hospital.

As medics rushed the workers to the hospital, one of the ambulances was involved in a collision and was able to make it to Broward Health Medical Center, where the medics and the construction workers were treated.

No other details regarding Monday's incident were immediately known.
