School bells will be ringing in South Florida next week and there are still hundreds of unfilled teacher positions. There are 221 teacher openings in Broward and 224 in Miami-Dade, meaning class sizes could go up if they can't fill the spots. Broward Teachers Union President Anna Fusco says the biggest issue is pay-many can't afford to start at 47-thousand-dollars a year --she says the other issue is some are scared to start because of mandates with the so-called Don't Say Gay law. She says the state needs to offer better incentives especially with the housing crisis.
