Monkeypox Case Found in Florida

FORT LAUDERDALE -- The state Department of Health is reporting a case of monkeypox has been discovered Sunday.

According to FDOH in Broward County and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the case is related to international travel.

No other cases have been reported in Broward.

The World Health Organization had confirmed over 90 cases worldwide of monkeypox as of Saturday, including five in the U.S. Scientists say they are puzzled by cases reported in North America and Europe.
