Miami Police Robbery detectives are investigating a series of robberies committed by a subject they say targets different stores to steal cigarettes. Detectives believe that the same subject is the offender in all the cases occurring between May 9 and May 13, 2022.

Here are the details of the incidents:

On May 9, 2022, Miami Police responded to a call of a reported robbery at 200 S.W. 13 Street at 1:48 a.m. Upon arrival, the store clerk reported that as he was checking out a customer, he observed the subject walk behind the counter and began to grab multiple packs of cigarettes. The store clerk approached the subject and ordered him to leave at which point the subject exclaimed that he had a gun and threatened to shoot him if he tried to stop him.


On May 11, 2022, Miami Police were dispatched to a second call at 200 S.W. 13 Street at 4:30 a.m. to investigate a call of a robbery. According to two store employees the subject gained access behind the counter and proceeded to load several packs of cigarettes and lighters into a bag. Both store employees attempted to prevent the subject from escaping, at which time the subject stated he will shoot them.


On May 12, 2022, Miami Police were dispatched to 1699 N.W. 7 Street at 5:40 p.m. Upon arrival, police made contact with three store employees who reported that an unknown subject stole several packs of cigarettes from behind the store’s counter, and then threatened employees by revealing that he was armed with a knife underneath his shirt.


On May 13, 2022, Miami Police were dispatched to 1085 N.W. 36 Street at 8:36 a.m. Upon arrival, police met with two store employees who reported that while they were working behind the counter, an unknown subject jumped the counter and demanded for the employee(s) to get away from him if they did not want to get hurt. The subject proceeded to load several packs of cigarettes into a bag before fleeing the scene.


In each incident, police they they were given the same description as the subject who has committed several robberies/retail thefts within the City of Miami.

The suspect is described as a white male with light skin, 5’8”-5’9”, 29-35 years of age, slim build, trimmed beard. He was last seen wearing a gray baseball hat, blue shirt, red shorts with black shoes.
