According to the Supervisor of Elections website, about 17 percent of eligible voters cast ballots in yesterday's municipal elections in 19 Palm Beach County municipalities and the special election for the State House District 88 race.

In that race, 80 percent of the vote went to the Democrat, Tae Edmonds, defeating Republican Guarina Torres.

As for the municipals:

In Boynton Beach - Current Commissioner Ty Penserga wins a four-way race for Mayor with 57 percent of the vote. Angela Cruz gets 62 percent of the vote, to win the City Commission, District 1 race. While Thomas Turkin leads the race for Boynton's District 3 race, with 39 percent, Marit Hedeen has 34 percent.

In Greenacres - Two incumbents win re-election to the City Council...Peter Noble over Nathan Galang in District 2 and Judith Dugo over Leonard Grant in District 3. Susy Diaz Piesco gets over 50 percent of the vote over incumbent Jonathan Pearce in District 4.

In Haverhill - There were no races, but all four Charter Amendments on the ballot got voter approval.

Five ballot referendums In Highland Beach - Question 1 gets approval, all others failed.

In Juno Beach - Alexander Cooke wins the Town Council race over John Callaghan.

In Jupiter - Incumbent Councilman Ilan Kaufer leads a three-way race for Mayor with 44 percent of the vote. Fellow Councilmember Jim Kuretski has the second most votes in that race. Cheryl Schneider is projected to win the First District race. Malise Sunstrom and Linda McDermott are the top two vote-getters out of five candidates in the Second District race.

In Jupiter Inlet Colony - Cynthia Keim leads the race for Commission, Group 4 with 44 percent of the vote.

In Lake Clarke Shores - Robert Shalhoub and Bobby Gonzalez are the projected winners in the two Town Council races.

In Lake Park - The top four vote-getters win seats on the Town Commission, Incumbents Roger Michaud, Kimberly Glas-Castro and John Linden will remain, while Mary Beth Taylor wins a seat, meaning current Commissioner Erin Flaherty will be replaced on the dais.

In Lake Worth Beach - Reinaldo Diaz leads the way in a three-candidate race for the City Commission, District 4 seat. He has 43 percent of the vote, with Craig Frost the second highest vote-getter at 35 percent.

Also in Lake Worth Beach there were four ballot referendums and all of them passed.

In Lantana - Lynn Moorhouse leads the Group 1 Town Council race with 44 percent. The second highest vote-getter there is John Raymer. In Group 2, Kem Mason gets 43 percent of the vote, with Media O. Beverly at 39 percent.

In Loxahatchee Groves - Laura Danowski and Robert Shorr are the winners of two Town Council races.

In North Palm Beach - The winners of the three Village Council races are Deborah Searcy, Darryl Aubrey and Mark Mullinix.

In Pahokee - Keith Babb Jr. wins the Mayoral race, while Tasha Murvin and Derrick Boldin take the two Commission races.

In Riviera Beach - Incumbent Mayor Ronnie Felder gets just under 50 percent of the vote in his bid for re-election, with Billie Brooks in second place. There were also three City Council races. The winners in Districts 1 and 5 are Tradrick McCoy and Douglas Lawson. Shirley Lanier leads the District 3 race with 44 percent of the vote. The second highest vote-getter is Marvelous Washington.

In Royal Palm Beach - Incumbent Jeff Hmara holds off a challenge from Julie Highsmith.

In South Palm Beach - Monte Berendes leads a four-way race for the Town Council with Bill LeRoy capturing the second most votes.

In Wellington - Two incumbents will win re-election to the Village Council...Tanya Siskind and John McGovern.

In West Palm Beach - Cathleen Ward takes 71 percent of the vote over Martina Tate Walker in the only race for the City Commission in District 1.

In Broward County, Democrat Rosalind Osgood gets 81 percent of the vote in the special election for Senate, District 33 over Republican Joseph Carter.
