The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating after police in West Palm Beach fatally shot a suspect.

Officials say officers responded to the 800 block of Sunset Road early Sunday morning after getting calls of an armed suspicious man smoking crack. When cops began to question Allan Lorenzo Robb, with intent to arrest him for Grand Theft Auto, he allegedly lunged at them with a knife.

Two officers deployed what are being called "less lethal weapons," but those were ineffective. One of the officers then shot Robb, who died at the scene.

Three officers are on administrative leave, which is standard protocol.

According to police, the suspect had an extensive criminal history, including 13 felony charges and one felony conviction.
