The Palm Beach County School Board is expected to discuss masks when they meet Wednesday evening, after the board chairman said that the legal department concluded that a mask mandate for kids could not be enforced, due to the governor's executive order.

Gov. DeSantis wants parents to decide whether their children should be masked up in school.

According to the order signed by the governor on Friday, school districts that punish students for not wearing masks can have Department of Education funding withheld.

Despite that, the Alachua and Duval County School Districts have just voted to implement mask mandates for the start of the school year.

Broward County is reportedly considering reevaluating its decision to reverse an earlier-imposed mask mandate.
