Second Mount Dora Store Owner Dies From Gunshot Wounds

Crimeline Offering $10,000 Reward

The second of two longtime Mount Dora business owners shot during an armed robbery at T&N Market earlier this week died Thursday, according to police.

Khiem Ba Trinh, 56, died after being in critical condition at Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, Mount Dora police said.

Mihn Nguyen, 47, was found dead at the scene Monday. Police said the case is now being investigated as a double homicide, and Crimeline is offering a reward of $10,000 for information.

“Investigators with the Mount Dora Police Department are working tirelessly following up on tips and leads that are being reported,” Mount Dora spokeswoman Lisa McDonald said in a news release.

Trinh and Nguyen were closing up their store shortly before 9 p.m. when a man dressed in all black ran up to Trinhand forced him back into the store at gunpoint, surveillance video released by police showed.

Both owners were shot multiple times before the suspect ran away through the parking lot, according to police.

Later, a customer discovered the victims inside and called 911.

A Go Fund Me started by a family member to help pay for funeral and medical costs has now raised more than $24,000.

Police are asking people with information about the robbery to call Crimeline at 407-423-8477.
