Rubio defends president's election challenge

As President Trump challenges the results of the election in court in a slew of states, Florida GOP Senator Marco Rubio is defending the president's actions--

"Our election laws call for recounts in close elections," Rubio said. "They provide candidates the right to contest votes cast in violation of the law. They allow the right to present evidence of fraud if you have it- to present that evidence in court."

Rubio says make no mistake- Joe Biden would have done the same thing if the shoe had been on the other foot.

"Joe Biden had hired an army of election lawyers to use this very process if he had fallen short in the preliminary results."

Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer blasted Senate Republicans because only a handful of them have congratulated President-elect Biden.

By the way, Florida's other U.S. Senator is taking on a leadership role for the GOP in the next election cycle. Rick Scott was elected Tuesday as chairman of the Republican Senate campaign committee, which works to elect Republicans to the Senate.

Senator Rubio is up for reelection in 2022. Democrats have already launched a Retire Rubio website.
