Former South Florida Congresswoman Under Investigation

A trip to Disney World could be costly for a former South Florida congresswoman.

The Department of Justice is investigating Ileana Ros-Lehtinen for possibly using campaign money on personal items.

CBS4 News reports the investigation involves expenses that include a $4,000 dollar trip to Disney and a $28,000 dollar stay at South Beach's W Hotel.

Ros-Lehtinen's lawyer says he's confident any bookkeeping errors, if they occurred, were due to negligence and not intentional misconduct.

Ros-Lehtinen served in Congress for the state of Florida for 30 years before announcing her retirement in 2017.
