City Of Fort Lauderdale Formally Dedicates New Riverwalk 9-11 Monument

Ft. Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis joining officials from Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale this morning to formally dedicate the new 9-11 monument. The monument honors those who lost their lives in the terror attacks 19 years ago, and commemorates the ultimate sacrifices made by first responders. The statue displays a rail segment from the tracks of the Port Authority rapid transit station that was located at the World Trade Center before being buried under the rubble of the collapsed towers. The monument displays the rail in an uplifted position supported by granite pillars. It's located on the New River just south of the intersection of S.W. 1 Avenue and W. Las Olas.
